It’s been a while.  I own the fact that I’ve neglected my tiny weblog,  the more pressing info is why… the answer is simply MASSIVE change. Less than a month ago, the mister & I got house married.  What an amazing experience! and to share it with the kindest man I’ve ever known sets my heart aloft.  We bought an inner city chalet, its a gem, its 70′s, and it completely ROCKS.  I’m humbled by how much  I love our “chalet chic” bungalow, it is just so US. Life is so GOOD. So its spring time, and I had another amazing blessing happened to me about a month ago.  I started working Saturdays at an art gallery.  Its called Swirl in Art Central, and not only are the owner & the staff incredible,  She is putting my work up on the walls. I have space in Art Central… sigh… Dreams do come true.

My recent radio silence has been entirely unintentional. The holidays have almost arrived, and with it comes the bustling social schedule. This time of year has its perks though, last weekend my sweetie and I shared a blissful escape from Cowtown and it was so good it chalks up two notches on the Awesome list.  As you can probably guess from the title, our escape was into the beautiful Rockies, Banff (specifically), both of us aren’t big fans of the tourist masses, but the weather was lovely.  As we were entering the mountains, we were both in awe, and humbly grateful that they are only an hour away from our front door.

The purpose of our journey was to attend our very first FUNSPIEL! The function totally lived up to its name, curling was a blast, and any sport where you are allowed to hold your beverage in one hand , and slide a giant-polished-chunk-of granite down a huge ice sheet with the other hand has to be awesome. Being surrounded by majestic mountains playing curling, I had an Oh(I love you) Canada moment.  I can’t wait to organize a curling party of our own, perhaps involving some frozen water-filled recycled milk jugs and the pond behind our house.

The highlight of the trip, was on the way home.  We detoured off the main highway, and slowly meandered our way through the winding, snowy, sunny mountain roads.  It was good for the soul. Pictures to be added soon.

We have so much to be grateful for if you really think about it.

Then I get to work, sit down for a bit.  Have a rad meeting with the best graphics TEAM a girl could ask for, at my desk I realize.  I’m well caffeinated & honoured to be here.

I’m not exactly sure what time I drew this, but I was obviously feeling grateful.

A little while later, the universe gave us another blessing.

My day flew by, I had a bit of an intense day, I’m the first to admit I love flexing my design muscles. I am in a good place.

The rest of my day included: grocery shopping, a supportive conversation with the love of my life, cleaning my office, warming up my Amazing computer, chatting on the phone with another one of my best girls, my sister, and my cousin.

I am so blessed.

Now, I need to play some guitar and go to bed.

There is nothing like a fresh start.

• or wisdom

All of these definitions feel right. Each its own form of truth.  Perspective is an individual experience. For example, a person might have $100 in their bank account and think they are broke, while another person would look at that $100 and think thats tons of money to get by. Perhaps this sounds simplistic. However, a few years ago when I was a sparkling new graduate in a great job, after the massive economic downturn I was laid off .  I never imagined something so earth shatteringly frightnening could have been one of the best opportunities of my life.   Since then, the obstacles that have been overcome have made me so much stronger, tolerant, loving, patient, and calm.  Facing challenges gives us strength and learning from your mistakes is how we acquire wisdom.  It is all about perspective.
