#5 Balance

The last few mornings have been very beautiful here in Cowtown. Today is the first day of fall and I’m actually quite excited about that even though the summer went by in a blur of work. Speaking of work, the honeymoon is over. Things are picking up speed. It went from smoothly sailing to smokin’ tires in a day or two. Learning is difficult, because it means having to make mistakes. It is so easy to become fixated on the one thing you did wrong when you might have done twenty things right. I have to change my focus, believe the people who love me when I’m being too hard on myself. I have to have faith, it will all work out. Don’t stress about things I can do nothing about. I’m really glad I started going back to yoga. It helps me find that constantly elusive quality that I want so very much in my life: Balance. One of my favorite yoga instructors once said: “We are all going to fall in life, what is important is that we learn to recognize at what point the centre shifted, and to do it with awareness.” Namaste.
